 Translated from Greek and Latin to "Common gold making", Chrysopoeia Vulgaris aims to produce algae-based bioplastics by harnessing the stress response of microalgae exposed to microplastics. It represents the 1st Law of Thermodynamics through the cyclicality of nature and the art of biological transmutation.

Positioning III century alchemical references into the issues of the present; the built bioreactor represents a closed system or Hermetic seal that investigates how we can harness microalgae's potential for wastewater treatment, whilst optimizing its biomass for the development of waterproof bioplastic materials.

These biological cycles that purify and refine themselves are a clear representation of the Hermetic principle "Hen to Pan", proving once again that the All is One.





Recomposition

Working from Almudena's final footage, I reconstructed the shot through an AI-driven recomposition workflow — translating the alchemical and tarot-derived visual language of the project into a new, transmuted image that echoes its themes of cyclical purification and biological gold-making.
